We are excited to share with you the ConnectHER Film Festival 2021 finalist films. We think the quality of this year’s films is one of the highest ever—an amazing feat in a year of major challenges. Congratulations to all of you who submitted films this year! We celebrate your accomplishment as well as your creativity and resilience.
The ConnectHER Film Festival amplifies the voices of women and girls through film. We have awarded more than $175,000 in scholarships and have received more than 1,250 original films from young filmmakers from 60 countries.
Winners will be announced at this year’s ConnectHER film festival, to be held virtually on November 13 at 7 PM Central Time!

The Judges’ Choice Grand Prize winner and 1st Runner Up is selected by our distinguished panel of judges.
The Best Film Production Award recognizes a film with high production values based on such criteria as cinematography and film editing. All submissions should focus on issues that impact women and girls globally.
About 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical and/or sexual violence, according to the World Health Organization. This award was created to focus on people or initiatives to end this global scourge, which impacts women in every part of the world.
The Gems Choice Award winner is chosen by ConnectHER Gems, an elite group of ConnectHER supporters.
The Girls in Tech Award is presented for a short film that focuses on women and girls in technology and other STEM fields.
The Global Impact Award was created to recognize a film that raises awareness about critical issues affecting women and girls around the world including global health, economic independence and education.
The Green IS Environmental Film Award recognizes a short film that shines a light on an environmental issue that impacts women and girls globally.
The Honest Beauty Award recognizes a film that challenges cultural messages about beauty and offers a more holistic view of what makes a person beautiful.
The Let Girls Learn Award recognizes a short film that tells a story about educating girls in the developing world.
The Most Innovative Solution Award recognizes a film that shines a light on solutions to a problem faced by women and girls.
At the local and global level, women are taking charge and improving the planet and the lives of people in their communities. Do you know a woman leader whose work is worth sharing? The ConnectHER My Hero Award recognizes a short film that inspires us with her story.
This award goes to a popular film selected by viewers in our Gallery. Our judges choose three finalists from among the 10 films with the most votes. Judges will then choose a winner.
The Stand Up Men Award recognizes a film that celebrates men who are taking a stand for women’s rights.
The Women and Work Award recognizes a film that shines a light on women’s livelihood and workplace issues.
