I am Adeline Sinatra and I’m the cinematographer for Women Warriors. Films have been a way for me to connect with others throughout my life by getting to connect with family and friends over stories that we could laugh at, cry to, and relate to. When I started going to Fit and Fearless, a woman owned self defense gym, I was inspired by the work ethic of the people I met. The discipline of these women was what made me keep coming back. When I was given a prompt to address a real world issue, I knew exactly what to do. 81% of women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime. As a woman, physical safety is never guaranteed, so getting to shed light on women’s safety through cinematography has been an incredibly rewarding as well as enlightening experience.
