We Are Going Virtual for GITWFF 2020
AUSTIN, TX — To our ConnectHER Family:
ConnectHER would like to thank you for your dedication in supporting our efforts to address gender equality around the globe. Every year filmmakers, industry and civic leaders come together in Austin, Texas to celebrate young students who are igniting social change through our Girls Impact the World Film Festival.
In order to safeguard against COVID-19 and in keeping up with the World Health Organization’s guidelines for exposure, ConnectHER has decided to replace this year’s Girls Impact the World Film Festival with a virtual web event. This decision, while difficult, creates two positive outcomes during this challenging time:
- It allows us to better protect the health of our filmmakers, supporters, volunteers and our entire global community
- It allows us to showcase the films and reach an even wider audience
Our virtual awards program will still take place on April 18th, 2020. We will provide more information about the virtual event in a follow up email, on our website and on all of our social media pages. For those who have already purchased a ticket, please email us at filmfest@connecther.org and indicate if you would like a refund or would rather allocate your ticket cost as a donation.
