Cut tells the story of female genital mutilation survivors. At age 15, Aicha Cherif found out that every single women in her family had undergone FGM at a young age. Aicha's mother in a brave move sent Aicha to America so she wouldn't undergoing FGM as an infant.

About the filmmakers

Aicha Cherif is a documentary filmmaker and activist. She is currently a junior in High School. Aicha is a film fellow for Tribeca Film Institute 2017-18. She has worked closely with the Lower East Side Girls club media department to produce films that empower women. Aicha is interested in ending FGM and community building.
