Alice is a beautiful 14 year old girl living in Kawetere village with her mother, Nuru. They both live in extreme poverty and Alice doesn't get access to education as a child. While going to work as a housemaid in town, she is mistreated, abused and overworked by her boss, Matrida the wife of Victor.

About the filmmaker

Diana Senator Lyoto studies pharmacy at Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences in Tanzania. In addition to pursuing a career in pharmacy, she aspires to be an influencer in her community and to establish a platform that will help girls explore and utilize their talent and potential. She is also a member of a young business and professional women’s organization and hopes to use that affiliation to liberate girls from ignorance, poverty, and violence. Says Diana, “As Napoleon Hill said, ‘A river cuts through rock, not because of its power but because of its persistence.’ I believe in hard work and persistence to make my dreams a reality.”
